‘Send Goya, with or without head’
When the Spanish artist Francisco Goya died in self-imposed exile in Bordeaux, France, in 1828, he was buried locally. But some years later when his body came to be repatriated to the Spanish capital Madrid, it was discovered that his head was missing. Xavier Bray and Mark Roglán discuss what happened.
