Ex-airline regulator: Boeing and FAA not too cosy
The former administrator of the Federal Aviation Authority, Barry Valentine, says the regulator is always rigorous when dealing with plane safety certificates.
It comes as questions have been raised about the closeness of the regulator to Boeing - as investigations continue into its 737 Max 8 aircraft following the fatal Ethiopian Airways crash.
The plane was the second of that exact model to crash in five months.
He spoke to World Business Report's Susannah Streeter.
