Does India have a problem with daughters?

Asma Khan felt unwanted as a second daughter born in 1960s India - she says a heavily patriarchal society meant her parents were desperate for a boy instead. But she worries that attitude remains in many parts of the country 50 years later.

The chef, who runs London's Darjeeling Express restaurant, explains how that sense of rejection fuelled her desire to make a mark on the world.
