Court victory for day centre users following council closure
Vulnerable adults and their families say they've been abandoned as the day centre they relied on was shut down.
After the families challenged that decision, a court has ruled the council closed the centre unlawfully, as they had failed to consult users.
In an rare move, the Court of Session overturned the decision made by South Ayrshire Council, meaning the Kyle Day Centre in Ayr should re-open.
The local authority says it's struggling to balance increasing demand for social care with budget shortfalls.
