The Ghanaian shoe seller taking on an ex-dictator
Why were more than 50 West African migrants killed in Gambia back in 2005 during the regime of former President Yahya Jammeh and who gave the order for their killings?
Well the answers may well come out during the hearings for Gambia鈥檚 Truth, Reconciliation, and Reparations Commission (TRRC). It is believed that 44 Ghanaians, nine Nigerians, two Togolese, and citizens of Ivory Coast, Senegal and The Gambia itself were killed over several days in July 2005.
Martin Kyere is the only known survivor of the massacre and is due to talk to the commission next week.
