Yonfan: The film that changed me
The Hong Kong director Yonfan is a man who loves cinema, having written, produced and directed celebrated classics such as Prince of Tears and Peony Pavilion.
After a hiatus of ten years, he returned to filmmaking in 2020 with his animation debut No 7 Cherry Lane. He tells us how he turned to the 1965 drama film Ship of Fools, by American director Stanley Kramer, when the release of his own film was delayed due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
