'Navalny was determined to return to Russia鈥�
Prominent Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny was determined to return to the country after recovering from nearly being killed by a nerve agent attack, a key ally and executive director of his anti-corruption foundation has said.
鈥淚t鈥檚 not for nothing that Navalny became the leader of Russian opposition. His moral authority, his moral stance is what really underpins his position as leader of opposition,鈥� Vladimir Ashurkov told 成人论坛 Hardtalk鈥檚 Stephen Sackur.
鈥淗is return was really not a calculation, it was a matter of principle for him to return. Why shouldn鈥檛 he? He鈥檚 done nothing wrong, the work of his life is in Russia,鈥� he said.
