Vodou Priest Jean Daniel Lafontant
In the West, the Vodou religion is often misrepresented in popular culture and is called ‘Voodoo’. It emerged on the island of Haiti 500 years ago when the traditional religions of enslaved West Africans merged with the Catholicism of the French colonialists. Jean Daniel Lafontant is a Vodou priest on Haiti. He describes some of the important elements of his faith.
