"To celebrate this Jubilee with one of our towns becoming a city would be wonderful?"
Cllr Andrew Day, leader of Warwick District Council tells Trish Adudu that he welcomes the opportunity for a town in south Warwickshire to become a city.
It's after a letter was sent to the council letting them know about a competition agreed by the Queen to be held to grant ‘city status’ to worthy towns in the United Kingdom.
It will be the first time in 10 years that Her Majesty awards civic honours and the occasion comes as part of celebrations to mark The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Is it time for Warwickshire to have its first city since its boundaries were redrawn in the 1970s?
Andrew Day says it's important to hear from residents to see if it's what they want.
