Online gamers in China limited to one hour's play
Online gamers under the age of 18 will only be allowed to play for an hour on Fridays, weekends and holidays, China's video game regulator has said. The move reflects a long running concern about the impact of excessive gaming on the young, such as addiction.
The 成人论坛鈥檚 Stephen McDonell in Beijing explains that the 'sudden and draconian move' will be enforced with the help of the gaming compannies, who will require steps such as real name registration and IDs, even facial recognition to monitor use.
