Warwickshire has two of the highest Covid infection rates in the country.
Professor Lawrence Young, a professor of molecular oncology at the University of Warwick Medical School discusses the spread of infection with 成人论坛 CWR鈥檚 Trish Adudu.
Warwickshire County Council gave us the following statement:
"Warwickshire's Public Health and Education services are talking with school leaders about the specific challenges they're facing in their settings. We're clear that the contingency framework for schools sets out a number of measures to assist school leaders in managing outbreaks, including 'living' risk assessments, reintroducing face coverings in certain circumstances, reviewing hygiene measures around touchpoints and high traffic areas, promoting twice-weekly LFD testing, and maximising ventilation. We're working with schools on a ventilation review programme with Health Protection teams. Where case rises are still being seen with these measures in place, we are talking to school leaders about what additional approaches they might wish to use in partnership with parents.
"Schools are asking parents to seek PCR testing on classmates where there are high case numbers in the school, and there has been good take-up of this recommendation by children and families. If school leaders feel it is appropriate to the situation, they are asking siblings of household positives to PCR test and isolate until a negative test result is returned."
