Norway's young activists fighting the climate crisis
In Norway, drilling for oil and gas has brought huge wealth - but like so many other countries, it’s now witnessing worrying signs of climate change and faces tough decisions.
As all eyes focus on world leaders at the climate summit in Glasgow, soaring gas prices in Europe have exposed the continent’s deep dependence on fossil fuels. Nearly a third of the UK’s gas supply comes from Norway. But young climate activists there are the latest to ask European judges to stop their government allowing more drilling for oil and gas. The Arctic Circle is warming at twice the rate of the global average – and the damage already done is clear to see. For 5 Minutes On, our Europe correspondent Nick Beake heads inside Norway's Arctic Circle, to hear how those affected by the climate crisis are now fighting for real change.
