Jesy Nelson and Little Mix
Nicki Minaj defends Jesy Nelson against claims of "blackfishing" in her latest music video. Blackfishing is a word used to accuse someone of pretending to be black or mixed-race.
For almost a decade, Little Mix have been one of the biggest pop bands in the world - selling millions of records and playing to packed stadiums around the globe. But less than a year after Jesy Nelson left the band, she's been caught up in a row with claims she's 'blackfishing'. Jesy's released her first solo single, 'Boyz'. In the video, she's heavily tanned. She wears basketball shorts and gold teeth, and sings about wanting a boy who's "so hood, so good, so damn taboo".
'Blackfishing' is a word used to accuse someone of pretending to be black or mixed-race. Nicki Minaj, who features on the song, defends Jesy, saying on Twitter: "if you know someone has been suicidal from bullying in the past, why try to get a bunch of people to bully them again about something else?"
Newsbeat's music reporter Steve Holden has 5 Minutes On the row between Jesy and Little Mix - and where this leaves a previously watertight bond.
