Ukrainians six months after the invasion

The people of Ukraine are marking the thirty-first anniversary of their country's independence from the Soviet Union. However, public gatherings have been banned amid fears that Moscow could launch new attacks.

The anniversary comes six months since the Russian invasion. Residents from Mariupol and Kyiv told Newsday how their lives have changed in that time.
