'My son was the victim, but could've been the killer'
The 成人论坛's Midlands Correspondent Phil Mackie speaks to the mother of one knife-crime victim, who's now helping the police with new anti-knife patrols.
Sarah Barry knows the impact of knife crime better than most. Her 19-year-old son Jack was killed in a knife fight last year.
But what's different about Jack's story is that he was also carrying a knife when the attack happened - something that Sarah acknowledges could've made him the killer, not the victim.
Now, she goes out on patrol with the police, helping them prevent knife crime before it happens. It's something that appears to be working - West Midlands Police says that in the month since it launched these new anti-knife patrols, serious youth violence involving weapons has fallen by 29 per cent.
