Murder in Mayfair

Martine Vik Magnussen was killed after a night out in London in 2008. Now, a billionaire's son, who fled to Yemen within hours of Martine's death, admits involvement.

After the killing of Martine Vik Magnussen in 2008 the main suspect, Farouk Abdulhak, fled to Yemen. He was put on the Met Police's Most Wanted list and is the subject of an international arrest warrant. Farouk has never spoken about the case - until now.

Nawal Al-Maghafi was a student when Martine's body was discovered. She found the reports about it deeply shocking, especially as Farouk is Yemeni - Nawal is also from Yemen.

So when Nawal joined the 成人论坛 as a journalist in 2011, it was one of the first stories she pursued. Her main goal was to find answers for Martine's family, who regard her death as a test of international law. The UK has no extradition treaty with Yemen.

But it wasn't until last year that she finally managed to make contact with Farouk Abdulhak. Hundreds of journalists have reached out to him over the years and he has ignored them all. But their shared Yemeni background helped Nawal gain his trust. Ten days after they first started texting, he sent her the first of what would turn out to be a series of revelatory messages.

"I did something when I was younger, it was a mistake," he wrote.

For 5 Minutes On, Nawal, shares her journey over the past 11 years in getting to this stage and where this leaves Martine's family and their fight for justice.
