The world's first transatlantic concert
In September 1956, hundreds of people packed into St Pancras Town Hall in London for the world's first transatlantic concert.
Singer Paul Robeson performed down a telephone line from the USA, thanks to the installation of an underwater cable.
What made the concert even more special was that Robeson had been banned from travelling outside the USA because of his outspoken criticisms of the government.
