The 'erased' Women’s World Cup
Leah Caleb was part of the England team that went to an unofficial World Cup in Mexico in 1971. She was just 13 at the time. Even though the tournament was not sanctioned by FIFA, tens of thousands turned up to watch the Lionesses play. But when they returned home, they were banned from playing football by the Women’s Football Association. She told Tim Franks about a new documentary - Copa 71 – charting that story.
