Fears over future of Worcestershire nightlife
The owner of Marilyn's in Evesham says clubs are facing a battle to survive in 2024. Sam Benjamin tells our reporter Matt Hutchinson about his fears for the future of his industry.
According to the Night Time Industries Association, 13% of businesses in the Midlands, have shut for good since the start of the pandemic.
The Association also recently revealed almost a third of nightclubs across the country permanently closed over the same period.
Sam mentioned about calls for a cut in VAT, for which a government said that their 鈥渄ecisive action" has helped inflation fall from above 11% to 3.4%.
The Treasury claimed this is "protecting businesses from higher costs than they otherwise would've faced".
