GB Paralympian Stef Reid calls out Nike over its use of amputee mannequins

When GB Paralympian Stef Reid saw that Nike were using mannequins wearing running blades to promote its products, she asked the company a simple question, could she buy one shoe because she only has one foot?

However, Nike said Stef was only able to buy the company's running shoes in pairs.

Speaking to 5 Live Drive鈥檚 Tony Livesey, Stef said: 鈥淢y biggest hope is that this just sparks a discussion about inclusion and diversity.

鈥淪o often it鈥檚 not that people are trying not to be inclusive, it鈥檚 just the question has never been asked鈥.

In a statement, Nike thanked the Paralympian for raising the issue and said: 鈥淲e stand for all athletes and sponsor a number of Para athletes around the world and look to assist them in all forms of movement.

鈥淲e are exploring opportunities and learnings from the One Shoe Bank program currently available for US-only customers鈥.
