Cruel Summer? Hollywood Feels the Impact of SAG-AFTRA in its Summer Releases

The so-called summer blockbuster season is the most important part of the year for movie studios - and last year, the 'Barbenheimer' marketing campaign reaped record billion-dollar profits for the box office.

George Miller's 'Furiosa,' the latest chapter in the 'Mad Max' saga, along with Marvel's only 2024 release, 'Deadpool and Wolverine', are expected to be some of the most popular films of the summer.

But audiences will have less to watch, because of the impact of the SAG-AFTRA strike, which has delayed the release of many big productions.

Tom Brook looks ahead to the summer of film for Talking Movies.
