Mumbai Indians' Major League Cricket expansion is 'exciting times'
With the T20 World Cup in the West Indies and United States well underway, and interest in the short format growing in the US, could there be an explosion of support for the start of the second season of Major League Cricket?
The competition, which debuted in 2023, has already attracted some big names including Australia Test captain Pat Cummins, New Zealand fast bowler Matt Henry and Pakistan's Haris Rauf.
The Mumbai Indians are FIVE time IPL winners and have franchises in USA, UAE and South Africa and Mahela Jayawardene has been tasked to oversee their increased international presence. The 2024 MLC season starts on 5 July.
Stumped's Alison Mitchell has been speaking to the former Sri Lanka captain about how the IPL giants are helping to grow the sport internationally.
