Jack Fowler - 鈥楾ake Nuts Off Aeroplanes鈥�
Jack Fowler recently shared a video of himself using an epi-pen onboard an Emirates flight to Dubai. He was served a curry with nuts in, despite having a severe nut allergy.
"It is absolutely petrifying being up there, not being able to breathe, with minimal medical help. So for me, that was my worst nightmare".
The words of reality TV star and influencer Jack Fowler, who recently shared a video of himself using an epi-pen onboard an Emirates flight to Dubai. He has a severe nut allergy, and was served a curry containing nuts, despite saying he checked twice with the crew and was told the food was nut-free.
He's now calling for a change to all in-flight menus, and in this episode of 5 Minutes On, he speaks to Radio 5 Live presenter Naga Munchetty about his ordeal.
We鈥檝e had a statement from Emirates, they say:
"We are sorry to hear of Mr Fowler's experience and are providing him with all possible assistance. The safety and health of our customers is taken very seriously. Emirates aims to cater to customers with specific needs by offering a variety of special meals that cover medical, dietary, and religious requirements, but cannot guarantee a nut-free in-flight environment."
The airline is urging travellers with dietary or other medical requirements to check their website and consult a doctor before travelling.
