Can South Africa鈥檚 government of national unity really work?

Organisations like uMkhonto Wesizwe Party and the Economic Freedom Fighters are opposed to the government of national unity saying, it doesn鈥檛 align with the needs of the poor

Today South Africa鈥檚 cabinet ministers will be sworn-in at a ceremony in the country鈥檚 capital, Pretoria.

They are from various political parties and form part of President Cyril Ramaphosa鈥檚 government of national unity.

These political events were triggered by the outcome of the May 2024 national election, where no party secured an outright majority.

So, can South Africa鈥檚 politicians park their ideological differences aside and pull together to set their nation on a path towards prosperity?
