Venezuela's opposition leader leaves country for Spain

Edmundo Gonz谩lez had been in hiding after an arrest warrant was issued.

The Venezuelan government says the opposition presidential candidate, Edmundo Gonz谩lez, who challenged President Maduro in elections in July, has left the country for Spain. Mr Gonz谩lez has been in hiding, and a warrant issued for his arrest after the opposition disputed July's presidential election result.

Also in the programme: votes are being counted in Algeria's presidential election, in which Abdelmadjid Tebboune is widely expected to win a second term; and the Spanish director Pedro Almod贸var has won the top prize at the prestigious Venice Film Festival.
