This week, we’re reflecting on the impact of the Covid pandemic on Africa’s burgeoning festival scene.

DJ Edu talks to founder and CEO of Ghana’s Afrochella festival Abdul Karim Abdullah, and Oriteme Banigo, who runs Gidi Fest in Nigeria, alongside Chin Okeke. Both festivals were cancelled in 2020, and look likely to be cancelled again this year, but TIA’s guests are in surprisingly optimistic mood.

DJ Edu also hears from event curator and artist manager Rickie Davies how she is coping with the empty diary. It turns out that gospel music is a great comforter!
