Why is Chinese EV giant BYD moving into Turkey?

We're in Manisa where preparations are being made to build a new car factory thanks to a $1bn deal with the automotive giant.

We鈥檙e in Manisa on Turkey鈥檚 west coast.

It鈥檚 one of the country鈥檚 manufacturing centres for home appliances like washers, dryers, and refrigerators.

But soon, thanks to a $1bn investment deal, it will also be a local factory hub for China鈥檚 BYD - the world鈥檚 second biggest maker of electric vehicles.
