Multidimensionality

How many dimensions are we living in? Why do we need听eleven of them to help find the holy grail of theoretical physics - a theory to explain the behaviour of every force and particle in the universe?

Quentin Cooper is joined by Professor Michael Duff, from Imperial College London, and Michio Kaku, professor of theoretical physics at the City University of New York and author of Parallel Worlds.听 They听discuss听why string theory could be the answer and why we might be living in just one of billions of parallel universes.

Deep Sea Fish

Canadian researchers recently found that at least five species of deep water fish - which have only been fished for since the 1970s - are now on the critically endangered list through over fishing.

Quentin Cooper is joined by Professor Monty Priede, director of the University of Aberdeen Oceanlab, who uses three legged lander vehicles and cameras to measure the behaviour of creatures deep in the abyss.听 He's also joined by John Gordon from the Scottish Association for Marine Science to peer into the murky depths and find out what we know about these curious fish and their future.
