Conclusion : | |||
A deeply depressing view of the Conservative Party's present predicament, its leader, the leadership alternatives and the prospects for the Party at the next election. It has done nothing of note since the last election, and while Labour's performance is thought to be terrible, the Tories are not scoring in the open goal presented to them. IDS is not the answer to their leadership problems, but they lack a clear alternative. Very few think they can win the next election with IDS or a different leader, even it is their preferred choice. | |||
