Living in a Vicarage 3 April 2007
From Jane Austen to George Eliot, vicarages and rectories are imprinted on our consciousness as symbols of the literary, architectural and community history of the country. But many of those buildings are now in private hands, so what effect has that had on rural communities for whom the vicarage was always the centre of village life?

Kathleen Griffin found out more when she visited Jill Fraser in Warwickshire. Jill bought a vicarage anddiscovered that the building came with its own responsibilities.

Jill Fraser “More Tea Less Vicar” is published by Brewin Books. ISBN-10: 1858582946
