A new book to be published next year claims that between 1450 and 1750 around 60,000 were executed in Europe, Britain and America. But perhaps the most controversial evidence it puts forward is that as many as 25% of those tried and executed were men.
Jenni speaks to one of the books authors', Lara Apps, and to witch expert, Diane Purkiss and asks them why there has been a move towards researching men's involvement in witchcraft.
