Should parents pass their beliefs on to their children Thursday 15 August 2002
Should parents pass their beliefs on to their children or should they allow them to make up their own minds?

If you're a vegetarian should your child be forced to be one too? Would you disown a child who voted the opposite way from you? And what happens when your values conflict with what's deemed to be cool amongst your children's friends.
Should you stick to your principles over the expensive trainers, the makeup and the programmes they watch on television, even if it sets your child apart from their friends, or should you compromise your principles in order to help your child fit in?
Kate Saunders, novelist and agony aunt for Real magazine joins Martha to take your calls.
