Release of Sally Clark Thursday 30 January 2003
Sally Clark, the Cheshire solicitor who was given a life sentence three years ago for the murder of her two baby boys, has just spent her first night of freedom with her husband Stephen and their son, after the Court of Appeal ruled her conviction unsafe.

Sally was supported through this by her husband Stephen, her father and many of her close friends and colleagues. And there have been other cases where people have supported their loved ones, despite a guilty verdict in court. But why do they do it?
Mandy English campaigned for her stepson's release after he was convicted of murdering a policeman. He was freed after five years. Bob Woofenden is a journalist who specialises in investigating possible miscarriages of justice and Sue Stapely is a close friend of Sally Clark's and a member of her legal team. They all join Jenni to discuss.
