Downland Farm Project Tuesday 20 May 2003
The news that a child has a disability is certain to turn a parent's life upside down. But when Jill Parker was told her daughter Katie, who's now 23, was severely autistic, she was determined that people shouldn't write her off.

She banded together with other parents in a quiet corner of Sussex and transformed a Grade II listed farmhouse into an hotel and plant nursery to be staffed by disabled young people.
Rachel Schofield went to meet Jill in the gardens of the Downland Farm Project.
