The Office of National Statistics are publishing new figures on trends in the UK's population and are likely to confirm an ever falling birth rate.
At the moment women need to have three children each to sustain the country's population. But with one in five women not having children at all some economists say we need to follow in the footsteps of France and Italy, and introduce a breeding program to encourage women to start a family.
Jenni is joined by Katie Knight, journalist for the Daily Mail, Val Stevens and Ceridwen Roberts, Senior Research Fellow at the University of Oxford and former Director of Family Policy Studies Centre to discuss whether governments can ever legislate for women's fertility.
