We always evolve our plans to best serve young people at any given point, and during the pandemic launched Radio 1 Relax as a stream on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Sounds to support our listeners’ wellbeing during those testing times.
As we confirmed in February, we have now stopped curating content for the stream. Listeners can continue to enjoy its most popular titles, Radio 1’s Chillest Show on Sunday evenings, and Radio 1's Power Down Playlist Monday to Wednesday evenings. Both shows are available on demand on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Sounds.
We’ve recently expanded our existing Radio 1 Dance stream with more brilliant content, and later this year we’ll be launching a brand new Radio 1 stream allowing our audiences to discover and re-discover a wide range of music and acts supported by Radio 1 in the 2000s and 2010s, and with a dedicated focus on growing new on-air and off-air talent.
Additionally, Radio 4 LW will no longer appear in ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Sounds from 24 July, in line with the plan announced in 2023. Any listeners who were accessing Radio 4 LW on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Sounds can instead listen to Radio 4 as the broadcast schedule has carried the same output since April this year.
