Notts County have signed Lucas Ness from League One side Charlton Athletic for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old defender has signed a three-year deal - with an option to the club to extend for a further year.
鈥淟ucas is an outstanding young defender, who has already proven himself highly capable at League One level." said Notts director Richard Montague.
鈥淗e鈥檚 fantastic in the air, comfortable on the ball and, while perfectly suited to the right centre back role, is capable of playing anywhere across the back three."

Montague added: 鈥淗e is coming to the end of a successful rehabilitation from an injury last season. This is very much a signing made with the long-term in mind. It doesn鈥檛 affect our plans to strengthen other areas before the transfer window closes.
"Sometimes, in the transfer market, an opportunity presents itself which is too good to pass up 鈥 and the board are in agreement that this is one of those instances.鈥
Notts have now made 11 signings in this summer window - having also brought in defenders Matty Platt, Jacob Bedeau, Rod McDonald, Robbie Cundy, midfielders Jack Hinchy, Conor Grant, Curtis Edwards, goalkeeper Alex Bass, and wing-backs Nick Tsaroulla and Kellan Gordon.
Notts have started the new League Two season with successive draws at home to Fleetwood Town and at Tranmere Rovers, either side of drawing 3-3 in the League Cup at Shrewsbury Town, only to exit on penalties.
Their next game is at home to Grimsby on Thursday before a trip to Swindon Town on Saturday, 31 August.
