Hull KR have signed prop Jack Brown from neighbours Hull FC in a deal that makes Yusuf Aydin's loan move to the Airlie Birds permanent.

Brown graduated from the Hull FC academy despite being a boyhood Robins fan and made 72 appearances for the club as well as having loans at Doncaster and Bradford Bulls.

Brown was wanted by several Super League clubs, and was expected to move when his contract with Hull FC expired at the end of the current campaign.

Both Brown and Aydin have signed two-and-a-half-year contracts.

Rovers have had a superb start to the season, reaching the Challenge Cup semi-final and beating both world club champions Wigan and early Super League leaders St Helens to become one of six clubs level on points at the top of the table.

Their pack may be weakened by the expected departure of George King to his home town club Huddersfield Giants, so the move for Brown keeps them up to strength in that department.

Brown : "I’m buzzing. Coming early wasn’t something I expected but it was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down.

‘Willie (Peters, head coach) sold me the club straight away. Hull KR is in a great spot and hopefully that continues...

"Most of my family are Rovers fans. I remember coming to watch Hull KR and standing in the East Stand with them and now with the move it feels things have come full circle."

Aydin loan made permanent

Peters said: "Jack is a young front rower with his best years ahead of him. He possesses good footwork with a strong offload game and he’s hard to handle with the ball. Jack’s aggressive in defence and has plenty of upside to his game."

Brown has made 65 appearances for Hull FC after making his debut as an 18-year-old, and has played eight times for them in the current season.

Aydin has made his loan spell at the MKM Stadium permanent until the end of the 2026 season as part of the deal.

The Turkey international prop joined Hull FC a fortnight ago to bolster the squad after a poor start to the season that has left them second-bottom of Super League.

Hull FC director of rugby Richie Myler said: "His application of the past fortnight has shown a real desire to compete and be a part of what we are building here."
