The One Show presenter made it across the Channel
The presenter of the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳'s The ONE Show set off from Dover at 0746 GMT on Friday 12 March having been forced to cancel attempts on both Wednesday and Thursday because of treacherous gale-force winds.
She water skied the 22-mile stretch of choppy water in an incredible 100 minutes and arrived on the shores of France exhausted, yet elated, at 0926 GMT.
Weather conditions were far from ideal for a water ski crossing with the wind chill temperature below freezing and strong winds making Christine's challenge extremely difficult.
But thanks to her physical and mental determination she fought the elements to stay afloat, falling off her skis only eight times and managing to stay upright for a maximum 15 minutes in one go.
On completing the task, she said: "I can't believe I've actually done it. It was really tough."
"The water was freezing and having to get up after every fall was exhausting," the presenter added.
"Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me along the way, it really kept me going out there."
