The Question Time panel and audience

Question Time... Stoke-on-Trent style!

Local schools were invited to a 'Question Time' style debate at the Potteries Museum in Hanley on the March 11 2005. The event, hosted by ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Radio Stoke's Stuart George and a panel of local figures saw more than 150 pupils taking part...

More than 150 pupils took part in the event, putting challenging questions to the panellists: John Caudwell, Mike Wolfe, Jan Williams, Janet Finch and Gary Oliver.

Meet the panel

Hot topics

Topics up for discussion were chosen by the students, with questions including local facilities, opportunities, crime, ID cards, religion, fox hunting and sex education.

There was strong opinion, insight and humour – especially when the panel was asked for their thoughts on the term 'chav', and found themselves unanimously lost for words!

But panel and audience alike, it showed just how much people enjoy a lively discussion.

Wait, there's more!

The debate doesn't stop here though... The Question Time recording was aired on Stuart George's programme on ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Radio Stoke over the course of March 14 - 18 2005, as a starting point for more discussion.

Expert advice

Stuart even met with David Dimbleby before the recording, for some expert advice on keeping order.
