Barry Stamp is a Lib Dem councillor who has lived and worked in Stafford his whole life. He stood for Parliament at the last election - but he knew from the start that his party would almost certainly remain in third place in Stafford. But even so, he hit the campaign trail with the support of the local Lib Dem team, and put his business on hold for a month while he tried to convince the voters of Stafford that he was the man to represent them in parliament. On election night, the inevitable news came in that Barry was in third place, behind the Labour and Conservative candidates - and David Kidney was elected for Labour. But how did Barry feel on election night when he heard the results at the count? Was he disappointed, or was he satisfied with a modest increase in the Lib Dem vote? Did he see his campaign, and the result as a success or a failure? Barry spoke to 成人论坛 Radio Stoke to explain what he went through during that election, and why his elderly parents were disappointed with him.
