Rachel Sloane reveals all about the 2008 concert. The sixth annual Christmas Carol Concert in aid of Children in Need takes place at St Mary's church, Bury St Edmunds on Saturday 6 December 2008 - and as usual it will be recorded for a broadcast on Christmas Day. This year Nick Risby will compere the evening and the Musical Director is Ian Morgan, conductor of the Abbott Consort of Voices, who is a vicar in Ipswich. Rachel Sloane has produced all of the concerts to date and has assembled a brilliant line up for the 2008 event: On the organJohn Ottley is an experienced organist from west Suffolk and also a receptionist at 成人论坛 Suffolk. John Ottley As he was the accompanist to one of last year's choirs, he can now claim the honour of being the only person apart from presenters to appear in more than one of our Christmas concerts. John will accompany the audience carols and this will be the first time we will have an organ solo in the concert. Pluck and Squeeze - traditional folk bandA great band who will bring 'something different' musically to the concert. This group will really get your feet tapping as they perform their own sets and accompany the audience in a carol. The Abbott Consort of SingersMembers of this chamber choir all sing in other choirs around the county and have been specially invited to join the Abbot Consort. The choir comes together for around four concerts a year and we are delighted they have added us to their programme. Four VoicesFour great Suffolk singers, (bass, tenor, soprano and alto) performing some of the Christmas music you love. Pudsey at the 2006 concert Close HarmonyThis choir features the wonderful unaccompanied voices of teenagers from Hadleigh High School.听 St James Middle School ChoirWe always feel it is important, at a Children in Need concert, to include a younger children's choir and St James is the latest one to join us (and will almost certainly steal the show!). As always the 成人论坛 Radio Suffolk presenters will be doing the readings of poems and prose. Tickets cost 拢10 for adults and 拢8 for under 16鈥檚 and the unreserved tickets can be obtained from the Theatre Royal Box Office on 01284 769505. last updated: 24/11/2008 at 13:01 SEE ALSOYou are in: Suffolk > Children in Need > Children in Need: Carol Concert 2008 |
