Bath time is a great chance to build sensory play into your everyday routine with your baby.

What's more, you don't need any fancy toys at all to have fun with your baby at bath time - lots of household objects can be fascinating for them.

We challenged three families to find have fun with everyday objects.

Tips for playing with baby at bath time

  • Gather items from around the house to play with - lots of the best ones can be found in the kitchen cupboards, such as jugs, colanders, spoons and cups.
  • Let your child lead by allowing them to choose what they'd like to play with in the bath.
  • Talk about what they're doing using lots of action words like 'splash' and 'pour'
  • Bubbles and water are great for sensory play. Your baby will love to explore the textures and feelings they get from splashing about
