How to make the most of playing hide the toy

Mix things up and play hide and seek with your little one's chosen toy. You can play this game inside or outside..

You can hide their toy under a blanket, behind the sofa or under the table. Then give your little one clues about where it's hiding.

When you hide the toys, practise using position words, such as 'where' and 'under' or 'behind.' As your child is looking, name the places they're looking.

You could say, 'Is it under the bed? No鈥 is it behind the table?'

Why not switch it up and let your little one hide their toy for you? When it's their turn to hide the toy, talk through where you're looking 'I wonder where it is鈥 is it in the hedge?'

When they find the toy, give them plenty of praise.
