She graduated with a degree in Welsh from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and won the Medal Lenyddiaeth (literature prize) at the Urdd Eisteddfod in 2005.

Dafydd's debut novel Pili Pala was published in 2006 and her first English language novel, Random Deaths and Custard (2007), was nominated for the Spread the Word: Books to Talk About 2009 award by the World Book Day team.

She has recently published her second Welsh novel, Y Tiwniwr Piano, works as a freelance creative writing tutor and is a scriptwriter for popular Welsh soap opera Pobol y Cwm.

In the autumn of 2009 Dafydd was involved in the Celtic Myths project for the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Wales History website and wrote the story Morgana's Secret Island, which is narrated by Hollywood star Ioan Gruffudd.

In May 2010 it was announced that Dafydd had been chosen to represent Wales on the 2010 Scritture Giovani project, which promotes the work of young European writers.

Four writers are selected each year for the Scritture Giovani project - one each from Wales, Germany, France and Italy. Each author writes a short story on a designated theme and the work is then published in a multilingual volume. The writers also present and discuss their work at a series of literary festivals.
