"Film-making - telling a story through the moving image. I have been passionate about films since I was five or six or seven. I was young anyway. It all started through my father, an illustrator. He provided art work for books, films, games and TV.
It was through his work in fantasy, horror and science fiction and his love of film that my passion for illustration and the moving image grew.
I watched films and wrote scripts. I did lots of drawing, drawings that could have become good ideas for live action features. I created comics based on existed characters. I'd complete and play out full length features in my head and I would watch films. This passion for the moving image has continued throughout my life along with my love of drawing and creating stories. I combined film-making and drawing by studying animation. This came to nothing but was fun. I learnt a lot about storytelling and visualising ideas but I was never quite as passionate about animation. All the while I continued to watch films. My film collection has increased as has my weight. But I'm hoping that these long hours spent in front of the TV, the cinema and the drawing board will be worthwhile and that film making will become my occupation some time soon. I'm sure that when this happens it will rekindle my father's love of illustration and film and this in turn will bring us even closer, and, we'll continue to watch films."
