Waterfalls

By Claire Love
March 2004, Monmouth
A digital story from Capture Wales

The Power of Nature

Claire is addicted to the healing power of waterfalls and finds that it's a catalyst for creativity.

"The power of water is my healing. Something that regenerates my own batteries, that brings me back to the ultimate health which I seek.

Thirst for treatment beckons me to submerge my head. White noise envelops me; bubbles pop on my skin like soda-water; the pressure rocks my body like a baby. It's bliss.

Thousands of fingers ruffle my hair making me grin inwardly, sometimes boiling over into fits of giggles. Hanging from a branch allows the water to thrash my feet, my knees and my thighs, whilst catching the sun's rays.

The crystal water washes away every thought, leaving the pure essence of me - the only bit that won't dissolve.

I sprawl out on hot, flat rocks. Baking in the heat; the smell of sun on invigorated skin; the feel of stone with enlivened fingers and toes. All senses heightened, I'm now right to explore my passion - my passion for photography; the sun and the shadows; patterns of nature and writing poetry. Creative stillness emerging from such thunder and turbulence."

The luxury of indulging in my photographs and the satisfaction of using the computer for the first time!

"Story was excellent. Very gentle yet calming. It made me remeber my time in Costa Rica. =)" Joe Bloggs from Wrexham.

"I thought the story was brilant. Last year I went to the waterfall. I stood under the water, it made me feel alive inside as the water ran over my body. I'm longing to have that feeling again when the weather picks up. To me it's the best in the world." Wendy Phillips, South Wales.

"Hello, what a lovely story. Surprisingly it made me think of getting into waterfalls. Do you know the waterfalls at Aber- Rheadr Fawr and Bach? They're lush. Feel free to come and visit them. In case you're wondering, I'm into weird water discoveries of the last 20/100 years like water memory and Victor Schauberger and Masaru Emoto's discoveries - incredibly important stuff. Cheers." Rowan from Aber, Bangor, Wales.
