"I have no good memories of my father.
There was a lot of tension and shouting when I was growing up. He was always angry about something. That's why I never wanted be a Dad.
While I was listening to Sergeant Pepper and trying to be rebellious, up in Scotland a little girl was born who would change my life.
We got married and then fell in love. Her name is Elisa.
We agreed that we both didn't want kids. So we travelled and had a great time together.
Then out of the blue - she was pregnant. I could see those palm trees and beaches disappearing into the past.
Elisa saw the doctor to confirm things and I waited outside. Her face said it all - she wasn't pregnant.
Instead of being relieved - I was devastated.
But the doctor, thank goodness, had got it wrong. Javen Williams was on his way.
We still got to the beach but there weren't as many palm trees.
Later Javen was overjoyed to welcome his sister Jasmin, and they helped me with my visits to my Mum.
Jasmin often says to my wife that I'm one of the kids. I take that as a compliment.
I never wanted to be a Dad but sometimes the things we think we don't want are the ones we need the most."
