On the prowl
Girl meets boy amongst the animal kingdom in her local park.
"For me, a house isn't a home without a dog. I didn't want a puppy 'cause I'd just had the laminate floor laid in my new house. So, I read up on breeds and I went after a whippet!
I put my name down on the waiting list for Whippet rescue and searched the pounds - but nothing!
Then my best friend Jess got laid out with a back injury. She had two lovely dogs; Jack, a 3 year old patterdale and Woody, a year old Whippet. But she couldn't cope now with two boisterous boys and asked if I'd like Woody.
Well, I jumped at the chance - he was a beaut inside and out. He moved in and within one night of cwtching on the sofa, I was a mum.
We were out all the time. I met all my neighbours and all the other doggy people. I loved to watch him sprint in circles around the park - but he's an indoor boy at heart, he's not really keen on the cold or the rain! Where there's a blanky or a warm lap there's a little Woody; my dedicated, doting, adorable little dude!
Next, to go with the house and the dog, I was on the look out for a man! I was always prepared for battle - smartish dress and predator make up. The only place I didn't give two hoots was out walking my boy!
And funny enough that's where I met Rob, down the park in my mac and wellies. I fancied him straight away. Thought he was gorgeous and he had a lovely big eared beauty with a question mark tail called Tilly!
Woody chased Tilly and I chased Rob - and we caught them both! So Woody had a new mate and so did I."
