If your mortgage has got you in a muddle, or you're confused by your credit card, then you're not alone.

Most of us have concerns about money at some point in our lives, so it's important to try and understand the concepts and the jargon around savings and debt.

The average household debt in the UK is 拢54,124 including mortgages and, even more worryingly, there are more credit cards in the UK than people, according to APACS the UK payments association. At the end of 2005 there were 74.6 million credit and charge cards in the UK compared with around 60 million people in the country.听
